The first step.

So I've read many many posts and guides on how to raise Elo. I've tried to take all the helpful hints and put them altogether in what I think should be a good way to execute all the good ideas.

My first step was choosing champions to become excellent at, not good, EXCELLENT. That means being better than at least 51% of other players at any given Elo at these particular champions. Well at least until I hit my skill cap, then hopefully I can hold myself there and slowly improve.

So, I have chosen 15 champions. I have 3 champions from each role: Top Bruiser, Jungler, AP Mid, Support and AD Carry. I have 2 mains and 1 backup champ for each one. I chose these champs using a few factors.

  • I looked at the tier lists around the web, mainly Reign of Gaming's tier lists.
  • I used my own experience, I have played LoL for almost a couple of years.
  • The current Meta for NA servers.
  • How comfortable I am with given champs (this was taken kinda lightly because I plan to learn whoever I need to in order to succeed.
  • Lastly, once I had my 15 selected I did my own check of efficiency which I will explain in my next post.
I had to buy 2 champs to make my full roster available.
The champs I have chosen are as follows:
Top Bruiser: Riven, Olaf, Renekton.
Jungle: Nocturne, Dr. Mundo, Skarner.
AP Mid: Ahri, Cassiopeia, Kennen
Support: Janna, Alistar, Soraka.
AD Carry: Kog'Maw, Corki, Graves.

Next post I'll explain my efficiency system and soon to follow is my quick pick guide for champ select! Stay with me, we will get somewhere.
