The surprises + Quick Pick Guide

Welcome back and thanks for reading.

So I'm going to quickly talk about the surprises from my efficiency system then move onto the quick pick guide which go hand in hand with one another.

One of my favorite champions of all time is Ashe. She was the first one I clicked with and she has so much utility and a built in red buff slow. A lot of people talk about how she doesn't scale as well as most ad carries, but in my experience I tend to disagree. I was surprised with my results.

From my system she scored 1 point. That means that in the long listed table I made of all the champions she was only mentioned once as a decent counter to any bottom lane champions. I really hadn't realised this until I did the research. My other 2 ad carries were Kog'Maw and Corki. They had 10 and 6 points respectively.

I decided to change Ashe out. But for who? The only way I could decide so i didn't fall into the same trap was to go through most of the ad carries that I lacked a counter for and see what was there. I found a hidden champion to cool my worries.... Graves. He fitted into my system perfectly, covering the counters that I lacked and came up with a nice efficiency score of 7!

On the other side of the scale I didn't realise how much top lane or jungle could be countered by one certain hairy, angry barbarian. That's right, considering him as one of my top lane champs Olaf came in with a whopping score of 27. There are 27 champions that play top lane quite often and Olaf is comfortable with all 27 of them, and hard counters a lot of them. Let's move on.

The Quick Pick Guide.

As I mentioned before I made a list of all the champions. I then put 3 slots next to each of them in order to list the 3 best counters for that champion from my list of 15. I tried to only use champs that lane in the same lane with that champ. I leave it up to my own judgment as to whether my team needs tanky or cc etc. That's how I was able to calculate the efficiency of my selection.

When it comes to champ select in ranked mode I kinda hope that I'm a few people down the list so i can counter. I always have it open and when I see a champ on the other team picked I know exactly who I want to go. No messing about.

In my next post I will share my Excel spreadsheet on the blog right after I explain one more aspect of it, tracking. If anyone shows any interest I can help them alter it to suit them or even create a blank one for them.

Until next post noobs,
